Dear Universe

Dear Universe,

You have granted us with many blessings and for that we thank you. As we prepare ourselves to begin a new week on this journey of life, we ask that you grant us with the power to follow the wisdom you have gifted us. We ask for continuous strength to deter from outside sources of negativity and white light to illuminate the way.

We pray for those whom are struggling with combating darkness. May they replace their current blockages with light. May they awaken to an illuminated path guiding them to their new beginning. May you never lose faith in their spirit. Though they may have lost their way, their purpose on this planet will always remain.

We ask you for continued guidance while we discover our true mission here on Earth. We ask for patience to understand the incomprehensible & love to be spread to those who need it most. May we be given forgiveness for our wrongdoings to your beautiful lands. May we one day come to understand that this land is not ours for the taking, rather ours to take care of. May we always hold the knowledge that we are of equal parts peace & love at the heart of it all.

We ask for your protection through the tribulations we face. May the upcoming week be one of letting go, healing old wounds and regaining our inner strength.

Sending light and love,

B

Imagine all the people…

Imagine for a moment that the path you are on has been predetermined for you. Your soul was hand picked by the highest source of love to make a positive impact on today’s world for the greater good of tomorrow’s world.

You have been gifted with everything you will ever need to accomplish your mission of world preservation. While sometimes blinded by the ego & its desires for humanistic luxuries, you know that everything you truly need to survive and thrive in this environment is found within.

Imagine that we all accept one another as brothers and sisters of our beautiful planet instead of throwing criticism at those whom we do not yet understand. Imagine being open to growth through the process of dutifully listening to those around us and absorbing the energy of the lessons taught by our fellow humans. This is the planet I desire to create. Together, this is not an unrealistic goal.

Can you imagine what our world would be like if we all took a moment each day to act out of selflessness? What if we showed more interest in saving the environment instead of saving our image? Think about this concept while you are exploring throughout your day today.

What can you do to better your community? What small act can you do to spread a positive message today and everyday?

DIY: All Natural Lip Balm in Under 10 minutes!

Hello my friends and welcome back to my blog! I know, I know…it’s been a minute since I’ve been on here, but I’m back with a fun DIY to get you in the mood for Autumn!

On a quest to purge all products without all natural ingredients from my makeup collection, I discovered how difficult it is to find a decent moisturizing, all natural lip balm. If you struggle with this issue, you’re in luck! Today’s blog post is all about creating your own DIY lip balm in under 10 minutes.

What you’ll need:

•5 tablespoons of coconut oil

•15 drops of 100% pure essential oil(s) in any scent(s) of your choosing

•3 tablespoons of beeswax

•10-12 small empty lip balm pods (available for purchase here)

•1 glass measuring cup or bowl (one with a lip will make your pouring process easier)

Step One: Measure out 3 tablespoons of beeswax and place it into your glass container.

Step Two: Place your glass container into the microwave and begin to melt the beeswax in one minute intervals until nearly melted.

Step Three: Measure out 5 tablespoons of coconut oil.

Step Four: Carefully take your glass container out of the microwave and add your 5 tablespoons of coconut oil.

Step Five: Place your glass container back into the microwave and heat your beeswax and coconut oil together in one minute intervals until fully melted.

Step Six: Once fully melted, add 15 drops of your favorite essential oils and gently stir your all natural ingredients together.

-For my lip balm, I chose to create a scent with 12 drops of peppermint essential oil and 3 drops of eucalyptus essential oil.

-The number one rule of this DIY project is to make sure you are using high quality essential oils! You do not want to take any chances when it comes to lesser quality oils on your skin.

Step Seven: Carefully place your mixture into your small lip balm pods nearly filled to the top (as seen below.)
Step Eight: Your lip balms will need approximately 10-15 minutes to fully set in their pods. Once you notice a slight change in color (they will turn pure white,) your balms are ready to be put to the test!

This recipe yields approximately 12-15 small pods of all natural lip balm and will leave your lips feeling refreshed and moisturized for days! Test it out, share with your friends & comment below with what scents are your favorites!

Up, Up & Away!

Hello friends! This weekend I was lucky enough to photograph my local hot air balloon festival & I’m happy to share the best of the bunch with you tonight! Being in a crowd full of strangers experiencing such a magical moment was truly medicinal for the soul. Sometimes the feeling of unity in times of strife can truly work miracles in your day to day life. Never be afraid to share a smile with a stranger. After all, we are all created of the same elements. Peace and love to you as you embark on a brand new week.-Blissfully Brigid

The Perfect Soundtrack For Your Date With The Stars

Hello my friends! As you may know, the Perseid meteor shower is in full force this weekend. I don’t know about you, but stargazing is one of my all time favorite activities to partake in and this event is one you don’t want to miss! To celebrate this out of this world experience, I have created a shooting star inspired playlist on Spotify to fill the silence during your night of stargazing. If you’d like to check out some of my favorite stargazing tunes, click this link right here and feel free to add your own fave tunes as well! This event is one I look forward to every single year. Regardless of where you are in the world right now, we are all looking at the same moon. We are all connected and unified under the beauty of twinkling lights tonight and to me, it doesn’t get more beautiful than that.

Peace and love to you always,

Blissfully Brigid

National Harbor Photo Recap

Hi everyone! As promised, here’s some of my favorite photos taken during my recent trip to National Harbor!

I had the pleasure of spending Earth Day in Maryland this year! Though it was a fairly gloomy day, we made the most of it and hit the dock as early as possible for a fun little photo shoot.

If you ever get the opportunity to ride the Capital Wheel in National Harbor, I highly recommend it! While it’s a little pricey, the 8 minute long ride is a blast!

(Pro tip: If you’re planning on visiting this attraction, be prepared to use a credit card! Unfortunately, they do not accept cash, but tickets can be purchased ahead of time on their website!)

Meeting my favorite president…well sort of.

I’ve always been drawn to this photograph, so when I saw this work of art I was thrilled!

This place was a dream come true…a whole store filled with Peeps?! What could be better than that? Oh right…the Peep VW next to it!

There you have it! Hope you’ve enjoyed my little trip recap! Stay tuned for a brand new playlist coming to you live on Music Monday!

Wellness Wednesday: The Positivity Challenge

Welcome to the fifth installment of Wellness Wednesday! As you may have seen from my recent social media updates, I have spent the last few days in the D.C. area exploring and soul searching. I like to believe that every adventure you take teaches you a little bit about yourself. On this trip through eight different states, I had a lot of time to think about what is truly important in my life and how this correlates into a lesson I can pass on to all of you.

Here’s where my mind is at: It’s the little things that make up a lifetime worth of special moments, memories and lessons learned. Waking up to comments of appreciation for sharing my voice or my photos makes all the difference in how I feel that day. We pretend that we aren’t affected by how people treat us, but isn’t it harder to stay positive when you’re surrounded by negativity at all sides? Isn’t it harder to believe in a better tomorrow when all you know is the struggles of yesterday? These things do matter. How you treat others matters.

Here’s the challenge: I’ve decided to take Wellness Wednesday in a slightly different direction this week and give you all a little homework! Don’t worry, it’s the fun kind of homework (if that’s a thing.) My challenge for you this week is to compliment someone every day of the week until we meet here again for next week’s Wellness Wednesday. Compliment others on the work they are doing, the photo they posted, or for simply just doing an amazing job at staying true to who they are. You never know what a little boost in someone’s confidence, even just for a moment in time, could do for them in the long run.

Here’s my reasoning: There is absolutely no reason to fight hatred with hatred. If someone has the audacity to criticize you when you’re down, remember that they themselves are probably hurting inside a lot more than they are showing it. Everyone has their own battles to fight. While there are some battles we must fight alone in order to grow on our journey, there’s no reason to play a part in making someone’s experience on Earth any more difficult than it has to be.
Peace is the answer to all our questions. Come from a place of peace and understanding when struggling through the difficult roads. Allow any momentary weakness to teach you how to be stronger next time. Every experience you go through in life is a chance to learn. It’s important to share positivity with those surrounding us. Remember that your energy is contagious. The footprints we leave behind matter. We have the power to create a more peaceful world. I don’t know about you, but I have faith in us. I know we can do better than creating acts of hatred daily. In each one of us lies the solution to the negativity problem that has arisen. Instead of waking up and spreading negativity, wake up and spread the love. It’s as easy as a simple compliment given or a smile shared. We are the change we need. Wishing you all a peaceful rest of your week.
Peace and Love,
Blissfully Brigid

Easter Weekend Photo Blog

Hi everyone! This weekend has been absolutely gorgeous here on the farm which inspired me to share with all of you a little look into my past few days! Enjoy!

It’s so easy to lose sight of what’s really important in life, especially throughout the busiest days. Taking a few moments to breathe & connect with nature is something that always captivates my soul.

Here’s a look into my annual egg dyeing which took place on Good Friday!

Anyone else obsessed with Pinterest? These runaway bunny cupcakes were way too cute not to make! I used a vanilla cupcake as the base, whipped vanilla frosting on top & then added some unsweetened organic coconut from Trader Joe’s to create the bunny fur! The cotton tail & bunny feet came to life with the help of some sliced marshmallows and a tiny bit of white chocolate dyed pink!

Playing the role of the Easter bunny to hide these colorful eggs for our outdoor egg hunt is one of my favorite traditions. Sometimes being the oldest has its perks!

Last but not least, here’s a little look into my outfit of the day!

Thank you guys for tuning in! I’ll meet you here tomorrow for a brand new Music Monday post sharing all of my favorite tracks as of late!

Peace & Love,

Blissfully Brigid
